Achievements of the CC of HITMOBILE were presented at the fifth edition of the "Science for Business" forum
“Optimal Storage of Renewable Energy in Batteries and Hydrogen” was the topic presented by Assoc. Prof. Blagoy Burdin, Head of the “Integrated Energy Systems” Laboratory at HITMOBIL Competence Center, during the fifth edition of the “Science for Business” forum held on June 3, 2025, in Vitosha Hall, Inter Expo Center, Sofia. In his presentation, Assoc. Prof. Burdin highlighted the laboratory’s extensive capabilities for real-environment research on: combined electricity generation from solar and wind sources; storage of renewable energy in battery systems of various electrochemical types and in the form of hydrogen produced by a semi-industrial electrolyzer; energy balancing within the electrical grid; fueling hydrogen electric vehicles via an operational charging station; and providing training and demonstrations.
As is tradition, the forum featured an expo area where СС HITMOBIL, in collaboration with the Institute of Electrochemistry and Energy Systems (IEES-BAS), showcased technologies and systems for clean energy generation, storage, and consumption, including hydrogen technologies, batteries, and battery systems. The hydrogen electrochemical compressor - designed for both single-stage and multi-stage compression - and the “dual-cell” hydrogen generator drew particular interest from representatives of leading companies such as MikroMasch, Komers Finans, Denali-IN, among others, as well as from young innovators from universities and research institutes.
This year’s event was held under the motto “Science and Business – Together for the Economy of the Future” and once again drew public attention to the importance of scientific research and its role in boosting the productivity and competitiveness of the Bulgarian economy through the adoption of new technologies and innovations.
The “Science for Business” forum is organized by the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences (BAS) and the Bulgarian Small and Medium Enterprises Promotion Agency (BSMEPA), with the support of the Enterprise Europe Network at the BAS Joint Innovation Centre (JIC-BAS).
