CC "HITMOBIL" tests pre-series battery systems for energy storage of "Monbat"
The first tests of battery systems for energy storage (BSES) of "Monbat" AD in a specialized laboratory for testing systems for renewable energy sources (RES) at the CC "HITMOBIL" have been successfully completed. This is the first project carried out jointly between HITMOBIL and an industrial manufacturer. At the same time, the project marks a new stage in the long-term fruitful cooperation between IEES-BAS, the leading organization of the Center, and the major European manufacturer of lead batteries.
The new test equipment of HITMOBIL and the results of the successful laboratory tests of the test prototypes of BSES, which MONBAT is preparing for serial production, were the subject of special interest from the leading representatives of the European Battery Alliance (EVA250) and the Bulgarian Investment Agency during on their visit to IEES-BAS on April 24, 2023.

"Monbat is preparing to commercialize BSES, offering a wide range of systems based on lithium-ion modules, but also on the proven technology with lead-acid high-cycle carbon industrial batteries. Our ambition is to offer both the Bulgarian and leading European markets a number of solutions for energy storage, some of which still have no analogues on the market," said Bozhidar Nekeziev, commercial director of the "Industrial batteries" department of MONBAT, in front of the participants in the delegation.
Cor.-Mem Evelina Slavcheva, as the head of HITMOBIL, expressed confidence that with the completion of the laboratories for the "Industrial Research" and "Experimental Development" modules, the Center of Competence will have the necessary research infrastructure and will be able to carry out complex expert-consulting and information activities at the development of such solutions.
